Choices Conference

This annual conference is held on a college campus with the purpose of providing at-risk high school students with information about attending college, besides having a focus on their empowerment, strengthening their self-worth and giving them a connection to a community that cares.

5 de Mayo Celebration

This celebration is held to bring the community together to acquaint them with our culture. The event is a Dance featuring Latin music and activities that reflect the spirit of Cinco de Mayo. Tickets to the event are sold as a fundraiser for student scholarships.

HOT Annual Scholarship Awards (Banquet Scholarships Awards)

After students selections for hot scholarships are made via a reviewing committee, a formal banquet is held to honor those receiving the awarded scholarships and their families. 

Serve Our Neighbors (SON backpack giveaway & health fair)

This HOT flagship event reaches out to underserved neighborhoods. Civic groups, nonprofit organizations and churches participate in this effort. Back to school backpacks, filled with school supplies, are provided to children of our local communities. With the support of local agencies, such as hospitals, service clubs, community agencies and medical and dental offices, the health fair portion of SON  offers many free health screenings and provides local residents with critically needed health information and access to healthcare professionals and other service providers. 

El Grito Celebration

16th of September celebration held at Whittier High School's Vic Dominguez Auditorium fulfills our mission to bring our community together to acquaint them about heroes and heritage by displaying the works of local artists and artisans, featuring Latin music, speakers and dancers. Tickets to the event are sold as a fundraiser for student scholarships. 

Parents Education Conference (PEC)

An annual conference targeted at parents with children in grades K through 12 who attend local school districts to obtain information and assistance in helping their children to finish high school and to go to college. Workshops include college preparation, academic support, college financial planning and parent engagement opportunities.

Positive Image Award (PIA)

This event serves to honor outstanding leaders for their services in the areas of education, business, community affairs and humanities. These individuals are recognized for making a positive contribution towards the HOT mission and the Hispanic Community. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, for high school senior scholarships.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration (Day of the Dead)

An annual cultural and fundraising event that highlights the Latino cultural celebration of life and death.
